Front of House Positions: Counter Service/Cashier

Job Description:

Be a part of an exciting quick service concept in Salt Lake City! Greet guests as they enter, package and serve food and beverage items as ordered and complete transactions using the POS system. Create a warm and welcoming environment by making recommendations and conversation. Through positive attitude, attentiveness and demeanor, ensure each and every guest’s experience is exceptional.  

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet guests as they enter.  

  • Serve guests per established standards.

  • Prepare beverages as needed.

  • Keep coffee bar clean and stocked. Brew coffee as needed and prep creamers.

  • Have thorough understanding of food and drink offerings, including specials, limited time offers, promotions and any other food related offerings to answer customer questions, make recommendations and upsell. 

  • Is the final ‘check’, ensuring all food and beverages prepared are correct and meet company quality and presentation standards. 

  • Complete customer transactions using POS system and follow all established cash handling procedures.  

  • Complete any set-up, prep, cleaning and stocking as outlined, and in accordance with established company standards.   

  • Guest complaint resolution. Any issue causing further issues must be brought to the attention of the manager on duty. 

  • Acknowledge guests as they leave and invite them to come back to the restaurant.  

  • Assist in the ongoing cleanliness and maintenance of dining/service areas.  

  • Stock coolers and retail shelves.

  • Working in a team environment, assist other team members as needed  

  • Uphold safety and security standards at all times.  

  • Complete assigned weekly cleaning projects.

  • Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms and appearance standards.  

  • Complete other job duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet any federal, state, county or municipal regulations pertaining to the service of food and beverages, including obtaining a Utah Food Handler Permit. 

  • Capable of using POS system.

  • Ability to read, understand and follow procedures and instructions.

  • Must work well with limited supervision within specific position functions but must also be highly interactive with other team members to accomplish work.

  • Previous restaurant service or cashier experience is preferred but not required.

  • Energetic and customer-service oriented.
